Heraclitus was from a city in Greece known as Ephesus. He was a philosopher with only one book ever published about cosmology, politics and theology. His quote “Opposition bring concord: Out of discord comes the fairest harmony”, which basically means that opposing will eventually lead to agreement and out of disagreement comes peace or harmony. This also means that disagreement can only come from a disagreement. From my own experience, the best example I could give would have to be the time my best friend and I would always disagree on something to start to argue. There had been so many occasions on which this had happened like fighting over who was the best soccer player or who was the faster runner. The time that we argued about who was the fastest was a really difficult disagreement because one of us was faster at sprinting while the other was faster at distance. Once both of us realized that the disagreement came to a close. There have been many occurrences where we have disagreed on soccer, such as who is the best player or who is the best team but it was very difficult to decide on. It was a hard decision to agree on so we both decided on which teams have the best chemistry, or the best players, or best coach, or even the best league but the questions themselves were too vague. So this quote is a very important aspect of everyday lives but most of the time people won’t even realize they have used it.
